Hello, my name is Loren Tenold and I am the All Things Aquatics Director at Many Point Scout Camp. This program is unique because kids get the chance to earn the following in 1 week at camp:
· Red Cross Lifeguard
· BSA Lifeguard
· Kayaking BSA
· Boardsailing BSA
· Motorboating Merit Badge
The chance to get your Red Cross lifeguard for a only few dollars more than simply attending camp is very appealing to many of our Scouts. Several Scouts from last year’s groups, have landed nice jobs at local pools in their communities.
In addition, Scouts will be participating in an overnight kayak drip which will include class 3 rapids.
I am a former Many Point Aquatics Director who volunteers to come back to camp for a week to make this program possible.
This is open to Scouts who are 15 years old or older by the last day of the program. Venture Scouts, including girls, may attend. The Scouts troop does not need to be at Many Point the week of the program. We run this like an All Star Troop and I serve as their Scoutmaster for the week as well.
I am asking that you promote this program to the Scout leaders at your roundtable. I’ve attached an info flyer.
