My project was to design and build elevated garden beds that will allow handicap accessibility. My design will adhere to ADA (American Disability Act) regulations for height and spacing of beds to allow for easy access and movement of children and adults in wheel chairs. The raised beds will be placed at Gale Woods Farm, which is a working educational farm. Gale Woods Farm is part of the Three Rivers Park District. Upon completion of my project, the area will be landscaped making it wheelchair accessible using woodchip and gravel mixture. The area will be prepped for placement of the raised garden beds and landscaping will be done by Gale Woods Farm.
