Troop 370 Parent Meeting Minutes
January 12, 2008

1. Treasurer’s Report. Total assets $21,988.03. Scout account total $8,991.57. Overall balance $12,996.46. There continue to be some scouts with deficits in their scout account. Joleen will require reimbursement from those scouts.
2. Camping Update. January 23 thru 25, we will be camping at Wild River. February campout will be President’s weekend (13-15) at Carver Park. This is the same weekend as BWCA which will be attended by 7 boys and 6 adults. Has the Carver Park permit been obtained?
3. High Adventure. Northern Tier dates are set and we are on track with both crews full. Please remember that all individuals will require a passport. Appalachian Trail trip is on track with the itinerary and dates set. Carl Patow reported that there are two openings for this trip. Philmont is scheduled for August 2010 with John Phillipi organizing this trip. A Grand Canyon trip is being planned for Summer 2010, contact Pat Hirl if have any interest.
4. Advancement. Caroline reported that 138 Merit Badges were obtained last year. Caroline made a pitch for Merit Badge Counselors. She is working to schedule 3 Eagle Board of Reviews which are tentatively scheduled for Thursday, January 15, 2009.
5. Recharter. Kathy Farr reported that the recharter is completed as of tonight. Caroline will be taking over the records, so we need a new recharter representative for next year.
6. Recruiting. There will be a sledding event on Monday, January, 19, 2009 at Starring Lake. Webelos will be in invited to this event. The council is working to plan a February crossover for the Webelos.
7. Service Projects. Scout Sunday is February 8th. City of Eden Prairie would like our assistance with a Flag Ceremony at their Tuesday council meetings on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. There will be a clothing collection fundraiser.
8. Summer Camp Planning. The planning meetings will begin on the last Monday of each month.
9. Roundtable. Friends of Scouting is due in February. Keep in mind that our meeting our goal will help pay for Rank Advancement and the cost of Merit Badges. Order of Arrow Lodge dinner is February 7th at the Sheraton Hotel in Bloomington. Cost is $25.00. District dinner is February 5th and is $10.00 per person. District Crossover is April 25th.
10. Activities. Powder Ridge has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 1st from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Troop will be meeting at Pax Christi for departure. Buck Hill All-Nighter is scheduled for February 20th.
11. Eagle Updates. Alex Patow has scheduled his Court of Honor for February 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Pax Christi. Justin Lawrie presented his Eagle project. He is planning to collect pet supplies for the MN Valley Humane Society.
