Assistant Scoutmaster

Good afternoon everyone,

Unfortunately I do not have good news today; as some of you may have hear over the past few days, Lori Helmer was killed in a car accident while jogging near her new home in San Francisco. Lori joined Troop 370 with her son John Grotenhuis in 2003 and immediately began volunteering to help wherever she was needed.....but mostly as an outstanding member of the committee serving in the position of secretary and coordinating Troop communications. Lori was always positive, upbeat, friendly, outgoing, and ready to help. She excelled at making sure that information related to Troop business was communicated out to everyone, and she brought a critical thinking process and a desire to build consensus to committee decisions that was appreciated by all. After her son John received his Eagle and moved to Colorado for college, she would stop by now and again to buy wreaths or just check in to see what was going on. This is obviously a devastating loss to John and the rest of Lori's family, so we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Troop 370 will always appreciate Lori's service to our Troop......and I will miss very much her ever smiling face stopping by just to say hi. Her obituary is in Sunday's Star Tribune, and funeral services will be at 11am on Wednesday November 26th at Pax Christi in Eden Prairie.
