Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Training - March 8

Scoutmaster / Assistant Scoutmaster Training

There is still time to sign up for the Classroom  March 8th and Outdoor Training April 26-27

Trained leaders = successful scouts.  We teach to lead by example to our Scouts.   Well as adults, we need to be trained for our position.   The Trained leader list is out and nearly 2/3 of the leaders in Mustang District are not trained for their position. While many have had basic leader training, that isn't enough to satisfy holding your position as an ASM or Scoutmaster.

The new policy  for the Western Team of the Council of which Mustang is a part of (as part of the 2015 pilot) in the coming year, is that all Scouter's will need to have been trained for a position before you can register (re-charter) in that position. If not trained you only be able to register as a Committee Member.

This is a great opportunity for new leaders in Boy Scout Units to get the training done. This is also an great opportunity for all the Webelos Leaders who are crossing over with their Scout to get the training necessary.  Take advantage of the offered training in your home District.

As an added bonus, Don R will be one of your instructors for the classroom portion of this training.  If we have enough participants for a patrol, we may be able to complete the outdoor skills portion of the training at Voyager Bay in May.
