Gathering of Eagles was impressive by: P. Skoog
On April 24, Troop 370 Scouts went to the "Gathering of Eagles" held by the Northern Star Council, at Base Camp near Fort Snelling.
New (or soon-to-be) Eagle Scouts Jack M, Andrew H, and Drew N were hosted by Mr. Skoog and Mr. Northrup.
The keynote speaker was Norwood Teague, Athletic Director of the U of Minnesota. Mr. Teague is the boss of successful U of M Football coach Jerry Kill, and basketball coach Richard Pitino. He spoke about leadership; and how leading strong teams to greater success takes vision, hard work and great teamwork. These are skills that scouting can create in young men.
Also, the winners of the Northern Star Council Eagle Scout scholarships were announced (pictured above). Drew N said, "I was proud that a good friend of ours from another Troop won one of the Eagle scholarships". Jack M agreed, "Yes, Griffin is a great person, a smart student and a good scholarship winner." Andrew H was very impressed that an Eagle scholarship winner (2nd from left) also had drive to earn EVERY AVAILABLE MERIT BADGE - 140 merit badges! So, he had TWO merit badges sashes that were totally full. Scouts - earn your Eagle well before Dec of your Senior year to be considered for scholarships.

"All Troop" campout at Taylors Falls - Sept 12-14, 2014 by: John N
Troop 370 will host an "All Troop" campout Sept 12-14, 2014 at Interstate State Park. It's a big deal and will be a blast, so put these dates on your calendar now!
"All Troop" means, in addition to all Scouts in Troop 370 attending this awesome campout on the banks of the St. Croix River, family members and Troop alumni are invited to camp with us too! Parents - whatever manner is comfortable for you! (Cots are ok, Moms!) Pax Christi's Venture Crew 370 and their adult leaders will camp near us. Cub Scouts from Pack 348 at Pax and other Packs are invited too. A big crew and much fun!
Let's all work to use this campout to offer benefits of scouting to friends or prospective scouts. All Scouts are encouraged to invite friends or boys who might enjoy scouting, but who haven't joined. It should be a fun weekend for prospective Scouts or friends of our Scouts.
There will be great food, a fabulous Saturday campfire, and first-class fun. Program includes a robust rock climbing course. Everyone will have an opportunity for success - the newest cub scouts, parents, and experienced climbers.
