Troop 370 Parent Meeting Minutes                                                                                        April 7, 2014


1 PLC Report:  Ryan O, SPL


For the next several weeks are planning to line some merit badges up – for Citizenship and for Chess. Would need an MB counselor for Chess. The electronic PLC file has to be recreated – it was destroyed. Forestville campout is April 25 – 27. Troop elections will be held May 5th.

2 Scoutmaster Report: Mike K, SM


Things going well with our Scouts and the website. Tanadoona went well; PLC meeting was conducted there.


3              Team Reports 


3.1   Activities/Camping                                

Forestville SP – April. Fly fishing is main activity.

Voyager Bay Work Weekend – May 9 – 11. This is Mother’s Day weekend. Relocating shotgun platform. Asked to contribute further – will discuss at next month’s meeting.

Voyager Bay – Summer 2014. Planning meetings continue. Updating patrol rosters and MB lists. Looking to name a camp director.

Isle Royale – Summer 20014. Got first week of August. Group of 10 can participate.

Philmont – Summer 2015. Nothing new.

Eagle Preview – will be April 8 at St. Andrew church.


Eagle Candidate – Parker – Eagle Proposal – to work with Ducks Unlimited in Carver County – building wood duck houses and placing them – between 20-40. Cutting will be conducted at Senior Center; will put them together next days. Will need 6-8 [people for the work.


Merit Badge Opportunities – taught by Keith F – in fly fishing and citizenship.


                Gathering of Eagles – have 5 reservations for Thursday April 24

He (Nathan B) could use some help. We all need to network to find more Scouts for the Troop. Activities conducted / planned: school visits; School Night for Scouting; Taylor’s Falls – scheduled for September

Assistant SM training conducted over the past weekend. More training coming up.

Walk Pray Run May 17th form 0800 -1200 – Pax needs volunteers as safety monitors, clean-up, water hand out.

Eco-Palooza – also May 17th – from 1200 – 1700

Tour de Cure – 5/31 – this group is not associated with our church but asked for our help
