I didn't sleep wonderfully last night. There were storms in the area (completely missed us; didn't even get a few drops) that I was watching, it was warm and humid, and I could feel sand in my sheets, and I had to get up to use the facilities. So hopefully I can make it through the day.
This morning after finishing my morning blog I went down to the beach and read a bit. Then the camp director and I went out in our borrowed boat to test it out. It was nice being out on the water and Tom's boat, after a little coaxing, started! We may have to "test" it again.
It is definitely more humid today, and it is overcast. At the beach people kept asking if it was misting. Just a very little amount of mist - I'm guessing so humid that it is falling out of the air. Temps aren't too bad, so we are happy the sun is behind clouds.
Lunch was grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, chicken noodle soup, veggies, crackers. Delicious. After lunch I made brownies. I had asked the cooks several times before their grocery run to be sure to get brownies, so they bought a bunch. If I'm calculating right, I have enough to make brownies each night for the rest of the week.
I think I mentioned earlier in the week, that the alumni were doing a theme of Prince songs for campfire skits, and one of them to the tune of Purple Rain was Purple Tray. We have food trays that hang on a string between trees to dry. They were a donation so color wasn't a choice. Most are some theme of pink, but there is ONE lone purple tray. So on Saturday, when we were waiting for the boys to arrive, someone asked me to make the Prince symbol on the back of the purple tray and then someone else traced it in black. So just giving you context of that song with these pictures.
Report from the gun range is that two older boys qualified in rifle, one yesterday and one today.
